In their work el ultimo grito re-use discarded materials to generate meaningful and individualised environments, which directly responds to the needs and dreams of their users.

“Tagged Environments #8” is the continuation of a series of installations on appropriating and transforming spaces using the absolute minimum of materials, such as by examining the aesthetic effect of a simple pattern based on the repetition of certain components. During a workshop in northern Spain, el ultimo grito worked with children to customize a variety of industrialized objects by reforming them and applying stickers to them. “These objects have now come to Essen, where we have re-interpreted them to adapt them to the new environment and to create a continuous environment in which they can all live as objects.” el ultimo grito have individualised a portion of their exhibition space with 20,000 specially designed stickers as an example of their “Design It Yourself” philosophy.
