He studied architecture at the Architectural Association and industrial design at the Royal College of Art in London. Simon Conder Associates work in the community, residential and workplace sectors in the UK and abroad with designs for sites in Australia and Singapore. They have completed projects in Germany, Japan and the USA. The multi-disciplinary approach of Simon Conder’s practice is applied analytically to all projects to develop individual and cost effective solutions that respond genuinely to the particular requirements of each client and site. The rubber house in Dungeness is a response to a climate of architectural lawlessness. Clad in black rubber, the building stands out as emblematic of more highly individualised design possible in such an ‚edge condition’.
